A Feed-in Tariff is an incentive structure to encourage the adoption of renewable energy through government legislation. The regional or national electricity utilities are obligated to buy renewable electricity (electricity generated from renewable sources, such as solar photovoltaic and wind power) at above market rates set by the government for a fixed period of time.
The higher price helps overcome the cost disadvantages of renewable energy sources. The rate may differ among various forms of power generation.
Usually Feed-in Tariff allows net metering. Under net metering, a system owner receives retail credit for at least a portion of the electricity he generates.
Feed-in tariff laws are in place in several jurisdictions across the world, like in Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Portugal and Greece. Please, inform you about feed-in tariff in your country. Gain money with renewable energies is now possible!
