Among the sources of renewable
energy, the wind energy is that which less has had to suffer the competition
of the oil and its by-products. In comparison to other renewable sources of
energy, as for example the solar one, the main characteristics of wind
energy are the followings:
Further to be continually
available and not polluting, it can be used for completing different works:
mechanical and electrical
Its practical use doesn't
require particular changes to the way of living, as it can happen for a solar
house
It is available both in the
daytime and at night and, in temperate zones, it is available in proportional
way to the application
The mechanisms that exploit wind
energy don't necessarily require state-of-the-art technologies
It is absolutely not polluting
and it doesn't influence the ecosystems in which it is inserted
The wind energy can be exploited
on the place where it is required and it doesn't need long connections with
the places of use
Our permanent magnetic generators
go from 300 W to 20 kW with tower heights from 6 to 18 m. The installation must
be on a ground free from obstacles to wind flow to allow the generator to
develop the maximum power.
Environmental impact: global benefits
The wind energy is a
renewable source, as it doesn't require some type of fuel, but it uses the
kinetic energy of wind (conversion of the kinetic energy of wind, at first
in mechanical energy and then in electric energy); it is clean, because it
doesn't cause harmful emissions for the man and for the environment. Wind
generators don't have some kind of radioactive or chemical impact, as
components used for their construction are plastic and metallic materials.
